Puerto Deseado is not yet among the cities where MoviSur operates: it is on the list of what is next, together with Las Heras. We would rather say that plainly than announce a date we do not have.
What needs to happen for it to open
A city switches on once it has gathered enough drivers for requesting a ride to be worth it. Opening before that ruins the service: the first person to request one waits forty minutes, does not come back, and does not recommend it.
Puerto Deseado is at the stage of signing up drivers.
Puerto Deseado sits on the coast, outside the northern corridor
The five cities opening on 1 November 2026 are split between the northern corridor — Caleta Olivia, Cañadón Seco, Pico Truncado and Koluel Kaike — and Río Gallegos, at the southern end of National Route 3.
Puerto Deseado sits on the coast, in its own node. That means it needs its own group of local drivers: having cars in Caleta is not enough.
How this gets sooner
- Drivers from Puerto Deseado signing up. This matters most. Sign-up is free, done from the app, and takes under ten minutes.
- People downloading the app. Even though it does not work here yet, that is how we see where real demand is.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a date for Puerto Deseado?
No, and we are not going to invent one. It depends on how many drivers sign up.
Can I sign up to drive even if the city has not opened?
Yes, and doing so is exactly what makes it open sooner. You upload your documents and they are verified while you wait.
Can I travel from Caleta Olivia to Puerto Deseado?
Not yet. Rides work between active cities, and Puerto Deseado is not one yet.
What happens if I request a ride here?
The app will let you know the service is not there yet, and you can leave your details so we can notify you once it switches on.
You can follow the status on the coverage page and sign up on the drivers page.
