In Caleta Olivia you will be able to request a remis from your phone with MoviSur from 1 November 2026. No need to call a remis company or ask how much it costs: you type where you are going and the price appears before you confirm.
Caleta is not alone: it is a corridor
Caleta Olivia is the northern end of a corridor that continues through Cañadón Seco, Pico Truncado, Koluel Kaike and Las Heras. Many people in the area live in one of these towns and work, study or run errands in another.
That intercity ride is requested exactly like one six blocks away: you type the destination and the price is set before you get in. No need to negotiate the fare by phone or find out who covers that route.
What changes compared with calling a remis company
| Calling | With the app |
|---|---|
| "Roughly this much", with the final number when you get out | The price appears before you confirm and does not change |
| You do not know how long is left | You see the car, the plate and the minutes |
| Getting one depends on who you know | You see straight away whether anyone is nearby |
| Cash | Cash, card or digital wallet |
Here people say remis
In the north of Santa Cruz the word is remis, or remis company. In Río Gallegos, by contrast, people say taxi. With MoviSur it makes no difference: it is the same service and the same app.
Who is driving you
Drivers go through verification before they can work: ID, criminal record, a licence authorising passenger transport, and a policy covering passengers. A private policy is not enough.
And they are from Caleta. That is not marketing: MoviSur only opens a city once it has enough local drivers for requesting a ride to be worth it.
From when
Rides start on 1 November 2026. The app can already be downloaded; you can create your account now, free and with no commitment.
Frequently asked questions
Can I go from Caleta Olivia to Cañadón Seco or Pico Truncado?
Yes. Both are among the cities opening on the first day, and the ride is requested just like one within the city.
Does it reach Comodoro Rivadavia?
Not yet. Comodoro is in Chubut and is currently under evaluation. You can follow its status on the coverage page.
Does it work 24 hours a day?
That depends on how many drivers are online. The app shows you straight away whether anyone is nearby.
Do I need a card to create an account?
No. It is free and does not ask for a payment method.
If you would rather drive than ride, sign-up is on the drivers page and costs nothing.
